Our co-president Anne-Catherine Ménard earned a spot on the rank list in the 4th annual Women in Business Awards! This ranking, by Premières en Affaires, has highlighted women's contribution to the Québec economy since 2020. For our co-president, this is her 2nd participation in the ranking!
This year's list comprises 131 companies with more than $5 million in annual sales.
'This 4th annual award is the story of companies that have been in business for 2, 3 or 4 generations, such as Trudeau, Berger or Roy. The tables (listed in the publication) also reveal the volume of business of companies that have been an instant success such as Lambert bags, or Cook It. On the front page of our charts, we notice companies of celebrities such as Julie Snyder or France Beaudoin, but also of all the stars who stand out in the daily life of operations to circumvent inflation, improve logistics, procure raw materials and retain talent.' - DÉBORAH LEVY, Editor in Chief
The awards publication was kind enough to share a report published by OSLER in November 2022 on Diversity for 2022 in Canadian public companies.
In Quebec, with the adoption of Bill 4, which provides for a parity zone in the boards of directors of government corporations, the evolution of the place of women in society and the business world can be seen. These companies are now subject to a strengthened governance framework.
However, they present a few interesting statistics which highlight the importance of continuing to support women in business.
