Granby Hospital Foundation’s EnBarque Challenge is a friendly dragon boat competition.
This event aims to support mental health initiatives in Haute-Yamaska area of Quebec. Businesses, friends, families, students paddle together to show their solidarity and support for people struggling with this disease. This annual competition hosted more than 1,200 people on Saturday, May 28th 2022 on Lake Boivin.
This year, 21 members of the Topring team & some family members volunteered to paddle their hearts out to support this worthy cause. Everyone was excited for the competition and the team spirit was high despite the rain and muddy conditions.
The team was scheduled to paddle in 3 races but after a minor crash in their 2nd race, the judges allowed the boats involved to retake the heat. After 4 frantic races, the Topring team won the best team spirit award!
Topring raised $ 3125 in all and the foundation was able to surpass their overall fundraising goal of $ 200 000 In total $ 224 450 was raised in support of the Granby Hospital Foundation.
