For 40 years, Leucan has been committed to helping cancer-stricken children and their families. In addition to its support to clinical research, the Association provides specific and personalized services to its families: emotional assistance and support, financial assistance, referral services, massage therapy, hosting and support in hospital’s playrooms, sociorecreational activities, an awareness and assistance program in school, end-of-life and bereavement follow-up, as well as the Leucan Information Centre. (About Us, https://www.leucan.qc.ca/en/about/about-leucan/)
Leucan is an organization that is very near and dear to our hearts as the work they do with children (and their families) who have cancer in Estrie and across Canada is so important.
It is a cause that we have had the honor of fundraising for many times over the years. Last summer we donated 50$ for every Covid-19 vaccinated employee. Caring for our community and each other is at the heart of our company culture. Read more about that fundraiser here.
The big shave
Six members of our team raised their hands with courage to mobilize for the Shaved Head Challenge. On May 11th surrounded by their co-workers, family and friends cheering them on, they shaved their heads! Although it was the first time in Leucan's history to have a business organize it's own challenge, for us at Topring it felt obvious to do it this way!
Something to share
Each one of our partipants had a different and important reason to particpate in the challenge! We are always proud to see how our team is so committed to causes like this.
Watch the video that was taken live from our event!
In total the participants raised $ 6,577.50! We want to thank everyone who participated in the event and all of the donors for their generosity and support.
A first for Leucan inspired by Topring
Since the Shaved Head Challenge at Topring was such a success, Leucan asked if we would help them invite other companies in the region to organize their own coporate challenge. We, of course said "YES!". The ad will be aired on M105 Radio for the month of August. Take a listen below (in French).
