Installation
The desiccant filter is equipped with a ¼ inch NPT female and male port and can be installed in either direction. A firm hand-tightening ensures a perfect seal. Therefore, it is recommended not to apply excessive torque that could damage the threads or use any tools for installation.
Operation
The desiccant filter allows you to observe at a glance the change from the original dark color to the transparent silica gel it contains. When the pink color appears, it is time to replace the filter/dryer with a new one.
Do not attempt to clean the filter/dryer using solvents such as ketones or other products that could damage the plastic housing. Ensure that the hose is always free of obstructions. Increased pressure on the housing could crack the inlet and outlet ports.
General Information
This manual must be read by everyone who installs, operates, or maintains this regulator. It provides essential information regarding the technical specifications, operation, and maintenance of the Toolreg® regulator. Please read and follow these instructions carefully to ensure safe and efficient use, ensuring the regulator operates malfunction-free over a long period.
Compliance
The Toolreg® regulator complies with ISO-4414, OSHA-29CFR, OHSAS-18001, Machine Directive, PUWER, and H&S Standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Installation
- Intended Use: The regulator is designed for use with compressed air.
- Clean Components: Ensure that all system components, including pipes, are clean and in proper working order before installation.
- Flow Direction: The direction of flow is indicated by an arrow on the surface of the regulator.
- Placement: To minimize pressure loss, install the regulator as close as possible to the point of use. The regulator can be mounted in any orientation.
- Fastening: Use appropriate tools to securely fasten the regulator during installation.
Operation
- Prefilter Recommendation: For optimal performance, use a prefilter with a rating of less than 50 microns.
- Output Pressure: The regulator’s output pressure is preset and non-adjustable. The preset pressure value (in PSI) is imprinted on the input side.
- Constant Pressure: The regulator maintains a constant pressure despite normal system pressure fluctuations.
- Venting Function: The regulator features an automatic venting function. When the input pressure is removed, the output pressure is vented from the regulator and any connected downstream tool.
Maintenance
The Toolreg® regulator is maintenance-free and requires no additional measures.
Warnings
- The regulator automatically vents if the compressed air supply is removed, making it especially suitable for tools using compressed air, such as nailers, to prevent accidental operation.
- By following these instructions, you can ensure long-term, trouble-free operation of your Toolreg® regulator.
